Lehigh Valley,
Pa. - Airport officials reported that passenger traffic for
the month of November reached a record high of 86,706 at Lehigh
Valley International Airport, an 11.90% increase over November of
1998 when 77,483 travelers passed through the Airport. This month's
passenger traffic is the highest total on record for November in
the history of the Lehigh Valley International Airport. The 86,706
passengers exceeded the Airport's previous record November of 86,203
passengers. The November passenger volumes were preceded by an all-time
record-setting month, when 93,958 passengers passed through the
Lehigh Valley International Airport during October 1999.
"A very strong
Thanksgiving holiday season really helped our passenger numbers
for the month," reported Bruce Tarletsky, director of business development
for the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. He went on to say,
"The continued success of affordable-fare, nonstop jet service
from Delta Express and USAirways to Orlando, Fla., along with increased
awareness of the Airport within a 50-mile radius, continue to play
a major role in the steady increase in our passenger volumes in
1999."
Lehigh Valley
International Airport is located near Allentown, Pa., and serves
a 12-county area with a population of 2.3 million people. The Airport
is easily accessible from all communities in northern New Jersey
and eastern Pennsylvania. |
