Southern Skyways Introduces Non-Stop Jet Service Between Allentown, PA and Myrtle Beach, SC

Southern Skyways Non-Stop Flights to Begin FEBRUARY 2, 2007

Lehigh Valley, PA—Southern Skyways announced today that non-stop jet service between Allentown, Pa. and Myrtle Beach, S.C. will begin FEBRUARY 2, 2007. Utilizing Boeing 737-300 aircraft with seating for 148 passengers, Southern Skyways schedule will operate on Fridays and Mondays with Wednesday service planned during summer months. Flights between Allentown and Myrtle Beach will range from $99 to $159 each way.*

We see the opportunity to connect the dots between two greatly underserved markets by the major and low fare air carriers, said Suzan Desotelle, vice president of Southern Skyways. Myrtle Beach is a popular golf and beach destination without non-stop air service out of eastern Pennsylvania. There is also a fairly large population of retirees in Myrtle Beach from the Lehigh Valley area who have no easy way to visit friends and relatives before our new Southern Skyways flights. Southern Skyways sees the opportunity to meet demand in markets where air service is limited, expensive, requires a change in airplanes in a hub or is on a regional jet. Many of these underserved markets have non-stop service to Orlando and we are convinced that Myrtle Beach would be as popular if travel were convenient and affordable. Southern Skyways will help fill that niche.

We are excited about this new service from Lehigh Valley International Airport, said George Doughty, executive director of Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority. We know that Myrtle Beach is a much requested destination and are confident Southern Skyways will see a very strong response. We also know that this will provide a convenient option for South Carolinians to visit the greater Lehigh Valley Region.

Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, the worlds foremost golf destination promoter, will assist Myrtle Beach Direct Air & Tours marketing efforts to reach golfers in the Allentown area.

With these new Southern Skyways flights, golfers from Allentown will enjoy the convenience of jumping on a plane and being out on one of our 100-plus golf courses two hours later, said Mickey McCamish, president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. The demand for golf in Myrtle Beach has never been higher and these three regions have been ranked in our top 10 golf markets for many years. The new Southern Skyways service presents exciting new opportunities and Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday is committed to working with the airline to help promote the flights.
