Lehigh Valley,
PA - Airport officials announced today that passengers checking
bags need to arrive only one hour prior to departure* and those
passengers not needing to check in at the ticket counter should
arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of their departure time.
"We are
experiencing few delays at the screening point, although some passengers
will be required to submit to a more detailed inspection,"
stated George F. Doughty, Executive Director for the Lehigh-Northampton
Airport Authority.
Previously airport
officials had recommended that passengers arrive 90 minutes before
departure. "We are pleased that we can meet Federal Aviation
Administration's (FAA) requirements and provide a high level of
security at the Lehigh Valley International Airport," Doughty
said.
Lehigh Valley
International Airport is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania and
serves a twelve county area with a population of 2.5 million people.
The Airport is easily accessible from communities in eastern Pennsylvania
and northern, New Jersey.
*International
passengers and passengers going to Puerto Rico should arrive two
hours early.
