Passenger Traffic Continues to Increase at Lehigh Valley International Airport
Lehigh Valley, PA — The Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) reported today that passenger traffic increased 10.81% over October, 2006. In October, 73,890 travelers utilized LVIA compared to 66,681 in 2006. Year-to-date 709,878 passengers have used the airport, up 8.30% over 2006 figures. This is the thirteenth consecutive month that traffic has been up at Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Continued growth by Allegiant Airlines, Delta, United, and US Airways contributed to the increase. The entire traffic report can be located at http://www.lvia.org/info_booth/traffic_repts.html.
Lehigh Valley International Airport is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania and is served by Air Canada’s Air Georgian, Allegiant, Continental Express, Delta Connection, Northwest, United Express and US Airways. LVIA serves a twelve county area with a population base of 3.6 million people. The Airport is easily accessible from communities in eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey areas. The airport is entirely funded by user fees; no property tax dollars are used for the airport’s capital improvements or for its day-to-day operation.
