Lehigh Valley, Pa. - A special opportunity for children and adults to explore the skies around Braden Airpark will occur during Aviation Community Day on Saturday October 29, 2000 from 11 AM to 4 PM.

The Young Eagles program conducted by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 70 will allow children between the ages of 8 and 18 to take an introductory flight at no cost. Moyer Aviation, Inc., will offer nickel per pound introductory flights for interested adults. A makeup day for all introductory flights has been set for Sunday October 29, 2000 in case weather conditions prevent flight activity.

The Airport Authority, EAA Chapter 70, Moyer Aviation and US Avionics are sponsoring Aviation Community Day, which includes a dedication ceremony at 12 Noon to formally rename the facility in honor of its founders Edwin S. and Elizabeth A. Braden.

"Introductory flights provide a unique and fun way for people to get acquainted with general aviation and the airport" said George F. Doughty, Executive Director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. He went on to say "We are also pleased to recognize the Braden family for their many years of dedication to the operation of the airport and service to the community."

Those who wish to remain earthbound can tour the various buildings at the airport and inspect the general aviation aircraft that commonly use the facility. Representatives of all the event sponsors will be available to discuss their activities at the airpark, such as flight instruction, air charter, fueling as well as aircraft maintenance and installation of aerial navigation and communication equipment.

Food and refreshments will be provided at no cost while quantities last.

Braden Airpark is located at 3800 Sullivan Trail (S.R. 115) in Forks Township, Northampton Count. For directions to Braden Airpark please call Moyer Aviation at 610/258-0473.
