Lehigh Valley,
Pa. - We are experiencing great changes in the way you, the
traveling public, will be using the United States air transportation
network. The added requirements of safety and security will impose
some new constraints on how to use the aviation system. With that
in mind, we are offering the following tips on how to get from the
start of your trip to your destination, with as little inconvenience
as possible.
Please keep
these tips in mind as you plan your trips and when you arrive at
the airport. Please be patient with the service agents who are there
to assist you, they too are experiencing changes to the way they
conduct their business each day.
Most important,
GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME AND PLEASE BE PATIENT. AT LEHIGH VALLEY
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, WE SUGGEST YOU ARRIVE 90 MINUTES PRIOR TO
DEPARTURE.
-
Please take the time to check local newspapers, public service
announcements, and web sites to determine if new procedures have
been instituted.
-
Parking
and curbside access are controlled and limited. Short term
parking at LVIA has been significantly reduced. At times, close
in spaces will not be available. Valet parking has been temporarily
suspended. Our new economy lot is now open and free shuttle
bus service is available. Parking availability and measures
to control parking facilities are subject to rapid change. Please
check our web site at www.lvia.org or call 1-800-FLY-LVIA for
updates.
-
You
will be required to have government issued ID when you check-in
for your flight (e.g. drivers license or Passport). You
may be asked to produce this ID more than once.
-
If you
are utilizing an E-ticket or ticket-less travel, please confirm
with your AIRLINE what you will need at check-in. You may
need to have a specific written confirmation document such as
a letter from the air carrier acknowledging your reservation.
-
Only
ticketed passengers will be allowed beyond the screening checkpoint.
If you have a medical, parental or other specific, verifiable
need to accompany a ticketed passenger, please advise the agent
at the ticket counter.
-
Please
remove ALL knives, scissors, and blades of any type or size
from your carry-on baggage. These items should be packed
in your checked baggage. They will not be allowed in the sterile
area of the airport or on board aircraft.
-
If you
have a medical condition that requires you to carry a needle
and/or syringe on your person or in your carry on baggage you
must also have the medication that requires such injection on
your person. The medication must be packaged with a pharmaceutical
label or professionally printed label identifying the medication.
-
Please
avoid carrying bottles of liquid through the
screening point.
-
Control
all carry-on bags. Never leave anything unattended as it
could be subjected to tampering.
-
Never
carry anything onboard the aircraft for another person, especially
for someone you do not know.
-
Report
any unattended packages or baggage anywhere in the airport or
on the airplane to airport security personnel or airline personnel.

Valley International Airport is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania
