Canadian golfers and travelers targeted
through new Stay N' Play Golf Guide
LVIA is a partner
in a cooperative marketing effort to promote and increase travel
and overnight business to area hotels, resorts and golf courses
throughout the Lehigh Valley and Pocono Mountain regions. This new
program, called the Stay N' Play Golf Guide, offers accommodations,
dining and golf packages at nine resorts and hotels, reasonable
pricing, the scenic beauty and natural resources of the area, and
plentiful tee times during the shoulder season.
The guide, which
primarily targets Canadian golfers and business travelers, was officially
introduced at the Toronto Golf Show in early FEBRUARY 1998 and is supported
by sales initiatives, advertising and publicity campaigns.
LVIA Director
of Business Development, Bruce Tarletsky comments that such programs
ensure the success and future expansion of air service to Toronto
by introducing first-time travelers to the region, attracting more
visitors and generating increased overnight stays. Because Canadian
Sports-Market Trends 1997 ranked golf as the third-highest-growth
sport in Canada, attracting an estimated 4.8 million Canadians,
it made sense for LVIA to form the partnership targeting Canadian
golfers and business travelers.
The new Stay
N' Play Golf Guide packages are available to anyone, and brochures
will be distributed regionally to travel agents and local corporate
visitors. Business travelers from New England destinations where
LVIA offers direct service will also be targeted.
The guide is
available through LVIA by calling 1-800-FLY-LVIA.
