LVIA announces new international travel
capabilities
On April 4,
1998, LVIA successfully processed its first true international public
charter. The AVIACSA 727-200 flight, carrying 164 passengers, arrived
nonstop from Cancun, Mexico. In less than 45 minutes, the processing
of passengers through U.S. Customs, Immigrations and U.S.D.A. operations
was complete.
According to
George F. Doughty, Executive Director for the Lehigh-Northampton
Airport Authority, the new capability will enable LVIA to develop
its international charter business. Doughty says, "We believe the
ease of access to and from LVIA, and the ease and efficiency of
our accommodations, make us an excellent alternative to major East
Coast airports." |
