Lehigh Valley International Airport Announces Two New Nonstop Flights To Florida By Southeast Airlines

Lehigh Valley, Pa. - The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority and Southeast Airlines, Inc. announced today that Southeast will inaugurate new nonstop service to the Orlando, FL and Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL regions on August 9, 2002. Service will be with a Boeing MD-80 aircraft and will begin with one nonstop and a one-stop flight to each city five days per week. Passengers will soon be able to make convenient connections to several Caribbean destinations.

Fares to Florida will be as low as $59 each way. Service will be to the uncrowded and easy to use Orlando-Sanford International Airport and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport.

"We are excited about this major new service that restores our nonstop link to the Orlando area and provides new service to the Tampa Bay area one of our other popular destinations," commented George F. Doughty, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority Executive Director. He went on to say, "In the year ended June 30, 2001, 185,000 passengers flew from LVIA on other carriers that no longer serve this route nonstop."

Tom Kolfenbach, President of Southeast Airlines said, "We look forward to providing an excellent and reliable service linking Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey with these important Florida regions." He added, "We believe that this service will be the first of several new destinations we plan to fly from Lehigh Valley International Airport."
