Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority Releases April 2008 Traffic Report
Lehigh Valley, PA - Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) passenger traffic decreased by -3.81% in April, 2008 over April, 2007. This information comes from a summary of airline data released today by the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA). Total year-to-date passenger traffic for 2008 is 269,341 compared to 264,907 in 2007 up 1.67%.
Air Canada, Allegiant Air, Continental, and United showed an increase in traffic for the month. “This recent decline is consistent with national trends as airlines reduce flights in response to dramatic fuel price increases and a looming recession,” commented George F. Doughty, Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority Executive Director. “Nearly all airlines reduced their domestic schedules in the first two quarters of 2008.”
