April Passenger Volumes Up 14.75% At Lehigh

- Airport officials reported passenger traffic for the month of
April reached 84,908 at Lehigh Valley International Airport a 14.75%
increase over April of 1999 when 73,995 travelers passed through
the Airport. Passenger traffic for the first 4 months of year 2000
has increased 11.44% over the same period in 1999.
"The airport
has been experiencing steady increases in its passenger traffic
for the year 2000," reported George F. Doughty, Executive Director
of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. He went on to say,
"The continued success of our growth is due in part to our more
competitive fares in several of our markets in relation to similar
fares at Newark and Philadelphia. Increased awareness of Lehigh
Valley International Airport as the better alternative to big city
airports has also played a key role in our increased traffic."

International Airport currently has nonstop jet service from the
following airlines: US Airways, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines,
United Airlines, Comair-The Delta Connection. The Lehigh Valley
International Airport is also served by the following regional commuter
airlines: Air Canada's Air Ontario, US Airways Express, United Express,
Continental Express and Northwest Airlink.
