The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority Reports Continued Strong Recovery in Passenger Traffic for April 2007
Lehigh Valley, PA—Passenger traffic at Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) continued its strong recovery in April. Total passengers were up 15.70% compared to April 2006. Allegiant Air had the largest increase but Delta, Northwest and US Airways also showed increases. "It is clear that Lehigh Valley travelers are responding to the selection of offerings by LVIA's airlines. We expect this strong growth to continue into 2008," stated George F. Doughty, Executive Director of the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority. He continued, "We are looking forward to further expansion by Allegiant Air throughout the remainder of 2007 as well as the resumption of nonstop service to Boston in July by Delta Connection.�
Lehigh Valley International Airport is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania and is served by Air Canada�s Air Georgian, Allegiant, Continental Express, Delta Connection, Northwest, United Express and US Airways. LVIA serves a twelve county area with a population base of 3.6 million people. The Airport is easily accessible from communities in eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey areas.
