Girl Scouts Aviation Day Held at Queen City Airport
Lehigh Valley, PA— On Saturday, April 21, 2007, sixty girl scouts along with parents and friends descended on Queen City Airport for a day of fun and learning. The girls were divided into three learning groups; wings, tailwinds and propellers. All the girls were treated to the expertise of the Keystone Chapter 99s International Women Pilots. A tour of the airport plus an actual pre flight plan demonstrated the science of flying. Planned activities from take off to landing combined with model airplane demonstrations gave insight to flying. Each girl had the opportunity to sit in the aircraft and get hands on experience for the first time.
