Valley International Airport Reports Second Consecutive Record Month

Lehigh Valley,
Pa. - Airport officials announced today that 81,373 passengers
traveled through the Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA)
in the month of FEBRUARY. This was 23.47% above FEBRUARY 2003 figures
when 65,903 passengers used the airport. This is the busiest FEBRUARY
in the airport's history. The Airport has been steadily adding passengers
since the low-fare carrier Southeast Airlines began service in August
of 2002. Southeast Airlines currently has nonstop flights to Orlando/Sanford
International Airport, Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg Clearwater International
Airport, and the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood
International Airport and direct service via Columbus, OH to Las
Vegas. Continental Express, Northwest Airlines, Northwest Airlink,
United Express and US Airways Express also saw a growth in their
passenger traffic in the month of FEBRUARY.
"Southeast continues its growth and several of the major airlines
have recently added capacity," commented George F. Doughty,
Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority Executive Director. He then
went on to say; "More and more people are viewing Lehigh Valley
International Airport their airport of choice."
Lehigh Valley International Airport is located near Allentown, Pennsylvania
and is served by Air Canada's Air Georgian, Continental Express,
Continental Connection, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlines, Southeast
Airlines, United Express and US Airways. LVIA serves a twelve county
area with a population base of 3.6 million people. The Airport is
easily accessible from communities in eastern Pennsylvania and northern
