Queen City Airport Designated General Aviation Airport of the Year by the Federal Administration Eastern Region
Lehigh Valley, PA - Queen City Airport has been designated General Aviation Airport of the year by the Eastern Region of the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA Eastern Region is comprised of a seven state area. The award was presented at ceremonies that were held at the 29 th Annual Airport Conference in Hershey, PA Wednesday night.
The award was given in recognition of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority’s (LNAA) outstanding efforts to preserve and enhance general aviation airport capacity. LNAA is commended for establishing a Fixed Base Operation at the airport to serve the aeronautical needs of the public, vigorously pursuing needed airport capital improvements, and successfully promoting the continued use of the Queen City Airport site as a general aviation airport.
The event was attended by Authority Chairman Jim Seitzinger, Vice Chairman Walter Speck III, members of the Airport Authority Staff and Clarissa MacIntosh of the Queen City Airport Action Committee. In accepting the award, Executive Director George F. Doughty cited the dedicated efforts of the Queen City Airport Action Committee working in cooperation with LNAA to improve the Airport.
