Lehigh Valley International Airport announces
third new service for 1999
Lehigh Valley,
Pa. - Lehigh Valley International Airport officials today announced
another expansion of daily nonstop jet service from Lehigh Valley
International Airport for 1999. Beginning May 4, 1999, USAirways
will serve Lehigh Valley International Airport to Orlando with one
daily nonstop Boeing 737. "This additional flight by USAirways will
give our customers another low fare choice to Orlando," reported
Bruce Tarletsky, LVIA's Director of Business Development. He also
said, "We applaud USAirways on their new service and appreciate
the valuable service that they have provided travelers in the Eastern
Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey region from the Lehigh Valley
International Airport for over 40 years."
This announcement
is the third the Lehigh Valley International Airport has received
regarding expanded service at its Airport for 1999. On FEBRUARY
4, 1999, COMAIR- The Delta Connection announced that it was, effective
FEBRUARY 1, 1999, increasing its number of regional jet departures
from LVIA to Cincinnati to four flights daily. This announcement
was preceded on FEBRUARY 2, 1999, by Delta
Express's announcement that commencing May 1, 1999, that they
would begin serving LVIA to Orlando with a once daily nonstop Boeing
737 jet departure.
The new nonstop
USAirways flight #675 will depart LVIA at 7:00AM and arrive in Orlando
at 9:28AM. The return flight #676 will depart Orlando at 8:40PM
and arrive in LVIA at 11:02PM. This increase in service will continue
to allow Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey residents
to use the hassle-free Lehigh Valley International Airport at fares
that are competitive with big city airports.
