Lehigh Valley Air Introduces Non-stop Jet Service to Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa/St. Petersburg
New low fare service based at LVIA
Lehigh Valley, PA — Lehigh Valley Air will begin offering new, non-stop jet service from Lehigh Valley International Airport to Florida FEBRUARY 24, 2005. The cities served will be Ft. Lauderdale and St. Petersburg, Florida with daily service except Tuesdays. Fares start at $79* each way with the highest, walk up fare being $143* each way. Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-FLY-LVAIR (1-888-359-5824) or on the web at www.flylvair.com.
Cary Evans, Executive Vice President of Lehigh Valley Air, in making the announcement, said “We are convinced that the Lehigh Valley offers great opportunity for air service to many cities. For that reason, we have established Lehigh Valley Air to expand jet service originating from the Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown. We are very pleased with the enthusiastic support from the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority who has encouraged us to become a regional service focused on the air service needs of the people of eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey,” he concluded.
George Doughty, Executive Director of the Authority commented “This is an exciting opportunity for this region and the airport. We have put together a unique combination of traditional incentives and ground support functions that not only allow us to replace our Florida service, but to provide a basis to develop new destinations specifically for the people of the region.”
Evans said "in addition to our everyday low fares, Lehigh Valley Air offers non- stop service to both St. Petersburg and Ft. Lauderdale, advance seat assignment, no advance purchase requirements or a Saturday night stay.” Evans also added "everyone associated with the company is committed to providing long term affordable, convenient and reliable air transportation to the community."
Lehigh Valley Air will offer one daily round trip (except Tuesdays) to both Ft. Lauderdale and St. Petersburg, Florida using a Boeing 737-300 aircraft seating 148 passengers. The daily schedule will be:
