The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority will receive sealed bids for the removal and replacement of the existing rubber roof system on the main roof of Hangar No.7 at the Lehigh Valley International Airport. Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Office of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, Third Floor, Main Terminal Building, Lehigh Valley International Airport, 3311 Airport Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania 18109, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked as follows, “REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT FOR ROOF SYSTEM – HANGAR NO. 7 AT LVIA”.
The existing rubber roof system is installed over light weight insulating concrete. The work includes, but is not limited to, the removal and replacement of approximately 25,000 square feet of existing rubber roof membrane, insulation, in addition to random light weight concrete repairs. The new roof system will carry a 20 year warranty. Additional work includes air sealing measures, installation of miscellaneous plumbing with tie-ins and the removal and replacement of existing metal roof edging.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., on the Second Floor of the Hangar No. 7 offices located at 600 Hayden Circle, Allentown, PA 18109. Non-attendees will not be permitted to bid. Site visits are required and will immediately follow the meeting.
Plans and Specifications may be reviewed and picked up, by appointment only, after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the office of EBS Engineering & Building Science, LLC, located in The Metro Design Center, 1206 N. Sherman Avenue, Allentown, PA 18109 for a non-refundable fee of ($75.00) payable to EBS Engineering & Building Science; LLC. Appointments can be arranged by calling 610-984-3485. An additional fee of ($15.00) will be added if documents are to be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service. Project documents can also be obtained at the mandatory pre-bid meeting.
This project is subject to the provisions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Security clearance, a Bid Bond, Performance Bond, and Labor and Materials Bond are required. Contractors will need to fill out a Roofer Qualifications Statement.
The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, (in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1974, 7B Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000D to 2000D-4 and Title 49, Code of the Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federal-assisted program for the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act) notifies all Vendors that it will affirmatively insure that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority reserves the right to accept, reject and/or rebid any and all proposals at its sole discretion. All proposals will be valid for 60 days.
